Sufi pilgrims from all over the world are making the annual pilgrimage to Ajmer to attend the Ajmer Urs Festival, which commemorates the death of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, who was known for being non-violent and for helping and protecting the poor. The festival takes place at Sharif Dargah, a shrine at the tomb of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, lasts for 6 days and involves rituals, votive offerings to the tomb and prayers for eternal peace.
